Office Policies:

Office Hours, Appointments:

Office visits are by appointment only. We will make every effort to schedule you as soon as possible. We see patients Monday through Thursday and every other Saturday.

Cancellations and Missed Appointments:

If you cannot make your appointment, please give us the courtesy of at least three workday’s notice so that another patient may have the opportunity to see the doctor.

Dr. Shawn is committed to spending enough time with you to listen to your history, perform a thorough physical exam, and give an osteopathic treatment and/or a treatment protocol. This limits the number of patients she can see per day. Because of her commitment to quality care for you and other patients, it has become necessary for us to charge for missed visits (no-shows). Appointments missed without 24-hour notice will be charged the full cost of the visit. You can leave a message on the phone line. We do not accept cancellations via the patient portal or email.

If you are more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, your appointment may be rescheduled. Of course, exceptions are made for emergencies.

We do everything we can to be on time. However, as we work with other patients who have complex medical conditions, there may be times when an appointment runs over or we need to take a call from another provider to help someone get the care they need and deserve. In this event, we ask that you be patient. We will be with you as soon as possible. If our delay is more than 15 minutes, someone will notify you.

Fees, Payments, and Insurance:

Our office does not participate with any insurance provider. We will provide you with a Superbill with diagnostic and procedure codes, which you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement.

Credit cards are not accepted at this time. Office visits are "fee-for-service," meaning payment is due in full at the time of services rendered.

Prescriptions and Refills:

We will be happy to refill any prescriptions originally provided by Dr. Shawn. During normal business hours, we can fax or phone prescription refills directly to your pharmacy.

Our office DOES NOT prescribe long-term narcotic pain medications for any reason. Our goal is to identify the underlying cause of pain and eliminate it. If you require long-term use of narcotic pain medication as a part of your treatment, you should have these medications managed by a specialist in narcotic pain management.

Prescriptions will not be refilled on nights, Fridays, or weekends. Please anticipate your medication needs and make arrangements for refills Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
